This is what happened.

We arrived at the Prometha offices in Cambridge without a hitch. Matt, Fluffy and I managed to get into the building while the others distracted the security guards.

Meanwhile everyone helping out online, guided by the lovely Bicks and her new found techy skills, found their way into the Blackmoor Security website and were able to watch what we were doing via the Prometha CCTV cameras. (Login with username: 80003347 and password: 43462399 - the site code is cam027q)

So far, so not that scary and actually quite OK.

We managed to get into Woodburn’s office and find a note containing what turned out to be his Prometha website password in code. More on that later.

We EVEN got into the lab and - ta daaaah - found a sample of MAL!!

But then it all went a leetle pear shaped, to say the least.

We’re talking me, Matt n Fluffy being locked inside a lab that’s quickly filling with CO2 from a knocked-over canister. While an alarm goes off. And security come running. And the police are called.

Needless to say it was a truly horrible 10 minutes (actually I dunno how long we were in there. It felt like hours but I know it wasn’t). Wondering whether I was going to suffocate before the police arrived to arrest me, while a murderer got away with his crimes, is not a sequence of emotions I’m keen on repeating.

God knows how it would have turned out if it hadn’t been for the guys outside stalling security, and you lot online causing the system to crash and so unlocking the lab doors.

To cut a long story short(ish), we ran out of the lab straight into the not-very-welcoming arms of the police. I could not BELIEVE we were going to be arrested while Woodburn looked on.

Meanwhile, Bicks and everyone online were manically trying to work out Woodburn’s password to Prometha. They managed it, got into his account, found concrete evidence that we were right about him. He WAS behind Markus’ death. If you want to check it out it’s username: dwoodburn password: VNbTaDb.

Bicks called the Cambridge police, and Woodburn was arrested.

We were questioned by the police for a good few hours, but were let off. Now I’m at home and feeling very emotional and desperate for some sleep.

I can hardly believe we’ve come this far. I’m more grateful than I can say. But I’ll give it my best shot as soon as I’ve had some sleep…

‘Thank you’ doesn’t even come close. I can’t begin to explain how touched, grateful - and awed - I’ve been at all the work that you, people who six weeks ago didn’t know me from Adam, have put into helping me find out what happened to my uncle. I will never, ever forget it.

The only person who can help is Alison at DEPAA. She *could* get us some Murutaibo DNA, but will she? It’s gonna take a LOT of persuading. She needs to know we’re serious before she’ll even *think* about helping.  She wants to see us campaigning, basically, for indigenous people’s rights. We need to become activists, people.

That means raising awareness of the plight of native peoples (yeah baby, I know the lingo) via facebook, bebo, your blogs, making a poster - whatever, wherever. Just put the evidence online and send me the link/s. Even better, email them to DEPAA and tell them we need their help. Please.
