The Measles Connection?

I got questioned by the police re Malham. NOT fun. They had a massive go at me for disturbing a crime scene (well I didn’t *know* it was a crime scene, did I?) and pretty much called me a stupid kid. Made me feel like one too.
BUT they did let slip something raaather interesting. Turns out the scarring on Malham’s face was cos he’d recently had measles. If you check out the DEPAA site’s campaigns bit it says that there’s been measles in Calca. Did he pick it up there??
Help me find out what happened to my Uncle.

Hope you are feeling a little bit better.
Markus’s coded note when translated reads:
“Need identity of explorer figure. Timing still in question. Disease spread in question. Proof via hospital requires case and police co-operation.”
Was the “explorer figure” the person who brought the disease to the tribe. It is possible also that he thought someone brought it in on purpose and spread it for some reason. Maybe Prometha got some information they wanted from the tribe (maybe something that is going to make them a lot of money(that £3 bln Woodburn mentioned in his video?). Prometha didn’t want to give the tribe any renumeration or let them share the knowledge with anyone else so they tried to wipe them out along with the knowledge Prometha learned from them. OR maybe DEPAA are lying about the outbreak (again reason unknown) and there was no out break or spread so the hospital was trying to get him proof one way or another.
I think that either way your uncle was trying to do the right thing by looking for the truth.

So - let me check - you think either Prometha are up to something dodgy (not Markus!) OR DEPAA are lying?

Hi Rachel,
Sorry should have made myself more clear (the joys of dyslexia!) :-). The video I’m talking about is the promo one on the home page of the Prometha website (corporate update), where Woodburn talks about up and coming developments. His main focus (it’s obvious from the video) is money. I don’t think he’d care much who he hurt to make more. On reflection I don’t think DEPAA have any reason to lie about the trouble because frankly there are enough problems in the world without them having to make stuff up! So I’m going to go with the idea that Mr Woodburn is the instigator of all this trouble and that in the end it’s all about money.
From what I gather (I didn’t know him (obviously), but from the things people have said and written) your uncle was a good man and would never intentionally harm anyone, therfore my conclusion is he was there for his own scientific research and that Prometha had him followed (knowing that he was probably onto something, they would have at least known he was an excellent scientist. I would have thought they would know he wouldn’t go all the way to Peru without at least some evidence that there was something interesting there) and stole his ideas\work and then tried to destroy the evidence.
Or maybe I have an overactive imagination

OMG This website has my full attention i am so addicted wished I had found out earlier,absolutely brill the way this is all connecting,
