It’s Chriiiiiiistmaaaaaaaas!

Ugh I’m worn out just from typing those two words.
So far today I have eaten one fry up, one selection box, two mince pies, one satsuma, roast turkey with all the trimmings (apart from the sprouts, obviously), Christmas pudding, and several handfuls of Bombay Mix. I have drunk three glasses of Baileys, one glass of Champagne, one glass of sherry (why, WHY??) and wine with lunch.
And now I would very much like to profusely vomit, but I’ll settle for writing this then falling asleep in front of whatever costume drama mum will inevitably be watching.
God WHERE are my manners?? Happy Christmas! Did Father Christmas find his way down any chimneys near you? Hope you’re having a brilliant day and not feeling too homesick.
My favourite present: iPod speakers.
My least favourite present: polar-bears-kissing PJs. Do I LOOK like a polar-bears-kissing kind of girl? (Seriously, do I? Cos if I do I have some major style changes to make.) Apart from anything they look like they’d combust if I went within two metres of a naked flame. That’ll be Auntie Jan doing her Christmas shopping at discount ‘outlets’ again.
Aaanyway. I’m off to pass out in front of the telly, and maybe see if I can possibly squeeze any more food down my neck. Happy days!

The boys (and girls) are back in town

Ah Bicks and Emma, my lovely audience now that the uni lot are home for Christmas: how the devil are you? I trust Australia is all hot and BBQ-y and Nepal all hot and… what IS Nepal? And is it even hot? All these things I don’t know, being a non-abroad person.
Anyway, Callie, Chris, Jones, Fluffy, etc, are home and it is excellent to see them all. I somehow managed to wangle a Saturday off work so we went out last night, usual haunts. Had a great time. (No scandal to report – sorry.)
We’re meeting for Sunday lunch at the Victoria Hotel in half an hour. Ah roast beef, gravy, yorkshires, roaring log fire, Christmas tree… Go on, admit it, you’re totally jealous : p.
I tell you I’m a different person now I’ve got the gang back. Life is all fun again. Even the thought of going to work later on isn’t enough to put a downer on my mood. OK maybe a tiny downer. But still: woo hoo to life!
Missing you loads. Hope you’re having fun all those miles away.
